Melbourne Grammar has a long tradition of academic excellence. We believe academic success is important but so are the values that go with it. We aim to attract students with a wide range of interests and give them a diverse educational experience. Our curriculum is broad and challenging, designed to help students explore their own identities and strengths. We encourage students to take part in School activities which nurture their growth - academic, social, spiritual, cultural and physical. Developing natural curiosity and channelling it towards discovery allows our students to explore the full range of their abilities. The School continually strives to create the best environment for teaching and learning, combining staff, curriculum, physical facilities, cultural atmosphere, camaraderie amongst students and the latest technology. A high staff-to-student ratio supports top quality academic teaching, pastoral care, social and spiritual development and our extensive co-curricular program. The School has a teacher/student ratio of 8:12 at primary level and 4:9 at secondary level. Learning new skills and moving towards intellectual independence takes hard work and inspiration but opens doors to wonderful, liberating opportunities all their lives. Both within the curriculum and through co-curricular activities, a broad range of programs enhance and balance academic life, helping our young people become confident, independent learners with well-rounded personalities.
